...not as an everyday thing, but I remember having sparkly nail varnish and glitter gel when I was still at primary school, and my mum did my make-up for me properly when I went to parties and school discos. I was nine when I got my first 'proper' make up set for my birthday, and I got my first real nail varnish for Christmas and a Tinkerbell make up set with powdery eyeshadow the same year (before I'd had play make-up and peel off nail varnish.) I'd also wear high heeled sandles for these parties and discos and a really nice grown up outfit to one that my nan got me for Christmas. But it was only for special occasions. I did look very dressed up, but it was something I wanted to do. I didn't grow up till I was ready though.
